Thank you for supporting our students and our school! We could not provide these programs without the help of our amazing parents!
1. How do I avoid traffic congestion during drop-off and pick-up?
The traffic circle is very congested right before the first bell in the morning and right after the last bell in the afternoon. Plan to drop off your child early (7:10 am at the earliest) and pick up a little later (after 2:45 pm) congestion in the traffic circle. You can avoid the traffic circle all together by dropping off and picking up on one of the side streets near the school.
2. How do I know what is going on at school?
Always listen to or read Mr. Kirpalani’s weekly message. It’s a good way to find out about the school activities, upcoming events, extra curricular activities, etc. MyConnect is also another great way to stay informed. Teachers update homework, class notes, test dates, etc. There is also a link to check lunch money balances and make payments.
3. What do I do when my child is absent?
As soon as you know your child will be absent call the 24 hour attendance hotline, (858)484-1300, option 1 by 9:00 am and leave your name, your child’s name, and the date and reason for absence.
4. What do I do if I my child will be late or I need to pick my child up early for a doctor’s appointment?
If your child will be tardy, call the 24 hour attendance hotline before 9:00 am on the day of the tardy to inform the office and leave your name, your child’s name and reason for tardy. Send your child to school with a note from the doctor/dentist to excuse the tardy. To pick your child up early, call the 24 hour attendance hotline or send a note with your child in the morning with the time you will be picking up your child.
5. What do I do if my child loses his/her ID?
Replacement IDs can be purchased in the library for $5. Students are required to carry their IDs at all times. The IDs are also used to purchase lunch, check out library books, as well as use the game room and ball basket during recess.
6. What activities are there for my student to get involved?
Students can participate in a variety of activities such as the Running Raiders Cross Country Team, after school coding classes, after school art classes, Science Olympiad, Cyber Patriots, FLL, Video Club, Builders Club, Yearbook, Quiz Bowl, Math team, Gardening Club and many more.
7. How do I get involved at BMMS?
There are plenty of ways to get involved at BMMS. Volunteers are needed daily to manage the basketball during lunch, help in the library and work in the student store. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to chaperone ASB dances, work the book fair, Fallfest and many more. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities.
